Yu Yundian: When it comes to being a person or getting things done, one must always be meticulous.

Receiving, organizing, and shipping—within a straight-line distance of less than 20 meters, he makes these rounds over a hundred times each day.

His surroundings were piled high with various packages and raw materials—his daily routine followed a strict three-point line.

In the eyes of others, his work is utterly ordinary and unremarkable, but to him, there’s no real distinction—only doing it well or not doing it well at all.

In his simple words lies a heartfelt passion for his work.

He is Yu Yundian, the warehouse keeper in charge of supplies at the Great Emperor Hank's Supply Department.

Yu Yundian, an ordinary warehouse keeper at the prestigious Hank Company, joined the firm in 2009.

Shortly after joining, they faced a major warehouse relocation. Yu Yundian and his colleagues carried loads on their shoulders and backs, hauling and pushing everything together—working tirelessly until 8 p.m. to successfully move more than 100 tons of raw materials.

This time, while documenting Yu Yundian's story, I noticed thick scars on his right hand—marks left from when he was working in Guangzhou and was accidentally run over by a motorcycle. He said it’s a pain etched deeply in his memory, but one that doesn’t require too much attention. After all, life goes on, and staying optimistic is the key.

Nevertheless, Yu Yundian remains skillful and nimble with her hands—when busy, she can apply more than 3,000 stickers in just 4 hours.

Last year, the company revamped its packaging—everything from adhesive labels to cardboard boxes underwent changes. To achieve the work goal of "100% accuracy in both inbound and outbound logistics," he implemented a categorized management system, working meticulously and carefully to ensure that over 80 newly revised packaging solutions were accurately supplied for production.

The position of packaging warehouse manager may seem extremely ordinary, but Yu Yundian says, "Although we're not marketers, we're still part of the company's larger marketing team. If we make mistakes in packaging—like applying the wrong adhesive labels or misprinting batch codes—it could disrupt production and ultimately harm our company's product sales. That's why meticulous attention to detail and zero errors are my most fundamental principles."

This year, 31-year-old Yu Yundian and his partner rent a place near the company. He says that every day when he comes home and catches sight of his daughter, he can instantly forget all his worries.

The faint electric light from the wall illuminated this ordinary, unassuming little family. Yu Yundian said he often thought about his frail and ailing father, who lived far away in their hometown of Chongqing—and he frequently recalled his father’s wise advice: In both how you live your life and how you approach your tasks, you must always be meticulous.

Yu Yundian told me that in the Supply Department team, his colleagues are all like this—dedicated to their work and never careless.

Isn't this precisely the extraordinary within the ordinary? Hold greatness in your heart, see the small in your eyes, and pay attention to the details in your hands. Doing every simple task well is itself anything but simple; mastering each ordinary endeavor transforms it into something extraordinary. It's in the smallest of moments that we truly glimpse the spirit of a great person.
