2013 Year 8 Month 1 On Army Day, I became DDC A member of the marketing powerhouse team. After successfully passing the internal training assessment, I was fortunate enough to be offered a trial position. At the time, the company stipulated that the probationary period 3 Only after completing the assessment tasks within one month can they be hired.
My DDC The first stop of my marketing journey was Fujian. Under the pressure of securing a permanent position, I arrived in Fuzhou—thus, kicking off my path in marketing...
DDC Li Jianpeng, Manager of the Fujian Office:
“Phone appointments should radiate positive energy.”
——The first appointment attempt failed
I clearly remember that day was 8 Month 20 Day. DDC Manager Li Jianpeng from the Fujian Office warmly welcomed me, making me forget about the sweltering, humid weather—and this unfamiliar city altogether.
Starting from the next day, we drove together to visit feed factories along the way in Fuzhou, Nanping, Putian, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Longyan. Throughout the trip, everyone at each feed factory warmly welcomed Manager Li, giving me a firsthand glimpse of his exceptional interpersonal skills.
Walking into Xiamen, we’re planning to visit a company. Manager Li asked me to schedule a meeting with the key person in charge. I figured it’d be a piece of cake—picked up the phone and said, "Hello, Manager [Name], this is Wang Renjie from Chengdu Dadi Hank Biotechnology Co., Ltd. I’d love to drop by for a visit. Do you happen to have some time?" "Hi there, I’m actually out of town on a business trip right now. Maybe next time..."
The first appointment with the key figure ended in failure.
——Appointments Require Positive Energy and Attention to Detail
Afterward, Manager Li pointed out to me how to successfully schedule appointments. He emphasized that when we make an appointment, we must ensure the other party can sense our positivity and enthusiasm simply through the phone—after all, people naturally enjoy interacting with individuals who radiate good energy. Additionally, he stressed the importance of preparing a well-structured agenda for the call. Even though the client might be busy this time, Manager Li advised, "We should still ask about their availability for another time—after all, if we don’t inquire, they’ll certainly not respond!" His words left me thoroughly convinced. Since then, I’ve always carefully crafted my approach beforehand, approaching each call with a warm smile and unwavering confidence. As a result, appointment scheduling has significantly improved—so much so that some clients have even apologized for being unable to meet due to prior commitments. In fact, Manager Li has truly become my mentor in additive sales, teaching me the invaluable lesson that success lies in paying attention to the smallest details and treating customers as if they were close friends.
DDC Regional Manager Nie Haitao:
“We must deliver value to our customers.”
— The Secret Behind Doubling Market Sales
2014 Due to company personnel adjustments, I’ve been transferred to Guangdong. I’m being guided by Nie Haitao, the Regional Manager of this area, as he helps me get familiar with the local market. My biggest impression upon arriving in Guangdong is that businesses here are remarkably pragmatic—they’re deeply focused on understanding what value your product can bring to them. Will it help them maintain costs while improving quality? Or perhaps enhance quality without increasing expenses? Or maybe even offer additional value-added services?
Mr. Nie continuously shares his secrets to success. He says that when he first took over the Guangdong market, sales were only a few million—by the time 2013 At the end of the year, performance surged rapidly. At the time, I was curious about his secret marketing strategy that had doubled sales in Guangdong's market. Mr. Nie, however, remained humble, attributing the success to favorable market conditions over the past few years—as well as the dedicated efforts of many team members within the company. From Mr. Nie, I learned that effective marketing always requires careful planning, and once a plan is in place, it’s crucial to stay committed and see it through. When he first entered the market, he first conducted a thorough exploration to gain an initial understanding of its dynamics. Then, he identified key target customers, followed by a second round of selective outreach. After repeated rounds of refinement, he focused relentlessly on those carefully chosen prospects—gradually turning them into loyal customers, which ultimately drove sales growth steadily upward.
——The value-driven marketing he adheres to
During this process, I wasn’t aware of the many challenges he went through—but he persevered and delivered outstanding results. While running client visits alongside General Manager Nie, I noticed another one of his remarkable qualities: his commitment to value-based marketing. Every time he met with clients, he always managed to bring something valuable to the table, such as offering alternative solutions when corn was in short supply, or sharing industry insights. Moreover, he’d actively gather customers’ needs or concerns, addressing any issues he could resolve right on the spot. If a problem required further expertise, he’d promptly consult resources—whether by flipping through relevant books or reaching out to knowledgeable contacts—to ensure the issue was thoroughly resolved for the client. This approach to value-driven engagement earned him deep appreciation from clients; in fact, several times after our visits, it was the clients themselves who thanked us—and even invited us to dinner! As General Manager Nie often says, "Sharing value is a two-way street." Indeed, while visiting clients allows us to provide them with meaningful solutions, it also presents an invaluable opportunity for us to learn from their perspectives and experiences. I believe everyone encounters difficulties at some point, but it’s all about how we respond: whether we can stay committed and keep pushing forward. General Manager Nie exemplifies this mindset perfectly—he doesn’t shy away from challenges; instead, he rolls up his sleeves, thinks creatively, and remains steadfast in his efforts. Most importantly, he never stops learning, constantly striving to improve and deliver even better outcomes for both himself and his clients.
Financial General Manager Liu Shuncai
"Discovering and gradually enhancing my own strengths"
— Meeting teachers who are willing to share
Among my colleagues and leaders, some have been my mentors—so do my clients. For instance, Liu Shuncai, the General Manager of Jin Qian (Zhanjiang) Co., Ltd., is a mentor I deeply respect. Originally trained as a technician, Mr. Liu later transitioned into marketing and management, accumulating extensive experience along the way. He’s always eager to share his knowledge with younger colleagues like me—someone who recently graduated—and actively helps us grow professionally.
I remember once visiting General Liu. After finishing our discussion about work, I ended up sharing with him how things were going at my job. Since I’d just arrived in Guangdong and was eager to achieve some results, I’d been heading out early every day—often juggling visits to several clients in a single day. Yet despite my efforts, my sales performance hadn’t improved at all, leaving me feeling immense pressure. Sometimes, even in my dreams at night, I found myself still running from one client to the next.
——Self-discovery gradually advancing
Mr. Liu told me that young people entering the field of business need a healthy dose of pressure—after all, it’s precisely this kind of pressure that fuels motivation and drives progress. However, the pressure shouldn’t become overwhelming, as excessive stress can harm one’s physical health. Without a strong, healthy body, it’s simply impossible to achieve outstanding performance. It’s crucial to strike the right balance by learning how to properly manage and relieve stress, while maintaining a positive mindset and keeping in top shape. Remember, growth isn’t an overnight process—it’s a gradual journey built on steady accumulation over time. To succeed, you must learn to recognize your own strengths and focus on leveraging them by tackling tasks where you naturally excel. This approach not only makes it easier to deliver results but also boosts your confidence along the way. Ultimately, no matter what you do, continuous learning and reflection are essential for personal growth. Only by constantly improving yourself can you enhance both your effectiveness at work and your overall ability to thrive.
Mr. Liu's words calmed my restless heart, allowing me to get back to steadily pursuing the market, serving our customers, and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with them—results that not only earned us customer recognition but also brought high praise from the company. 2014 In the fourth quarter of the year, she/he was honored as a Sales Star in the advanced employee selection.
Thank you to the company for giving me the opportunity to hone my skills in the market and grow as a professional. I’m also deeply grateful to my mentors who have guided me along this journey—thanks to your invaluable guidance, I’ve been able to thrive and advance rapidly. Moving forward, I’ll continue to embrace a mindset of lifelong learning, stay disciplined with clear plans, pay meticulous attention to every detail, and remain committed to doing my best in everything I do!
