Sichuan Agricultural University's summer open day was a real eye-catcher! Agri-and-animal science students got an immersive hands-on learning experience at DDC—this educational journey was packed with valuable insights and practical knowledge.
On July 12, coinciding with the summer vacation open day at the Institute of Animal Nutrition of Sichuan Agricultural University, students from agriculture and animal science programs at more than 10 universities across China—including Sichuan Agricultural University, South China Agricultural University, Southwest University, Henan Agricultural University, Guizhou University, and Anhui Agricultural University—visited DDC to kick off their educational tour on regulating animal feed intake. Led by Yuan Ya, a support staff member from the Marketing Center, the students first visited DDC's bioengineering workshop. Yuan Ya provided a detailed explanation of how biotechnology products effectively regulate animals' feeding behavior by enhancing intestinal health, improving feed palatability, and modulating appetite—demonstrating firsthand the transformative impact of biotech on the agriculture and animal husbandry industries.
In the automated batching workshop, everyone was thoroughly impressed by the efficient and precise batching system. Thanks to advanced automation control, the DDC automatic batching system not only enhances the accuracy and efficiency of ingredient mixing but also highlights DDC's cutting-edge intelligence in the production process. Meanwhile, in the application laboratory, students gained hands-on knowledge of how animal feed regulation products are seamlessly integrated—from the lab all the way through to actual feed-processing operations.
As a science education base in Chengdu, the Wei Wuyou Exhibition Hall has opened a window for students to gain insights into the animal feed regulation industry. Inside the hall, visitors can explore comprehensive achievements spanning the entire feed regulation chain—from raw materials to a wide range of highly processed products. The diverse product lineup and exceptional quality have provided students with a more holistic understanding of animal feed regulation. Meanwhile, the R&D center serves as the heart of DDC's technological innovation, where a seasoned research team, cutting-edge experimental equipment, and DDC’s pioneering R&D ethos have left a lasting impression on the students.
After the tour concluded, a fascinating sharing session took place as scheduled. Lü Jirong, a PhD in Animal Nutrition from Sichuan Agricultural University and Deputy General Manager of DDC, delivered a wealth of insights under the theme "Starting from Sichuan Agriculture, Using the 'Three Bulls' as Our Brush—Crafting an Era-Defining Answer for Farmers and Herders." She began by sharing the academic journeys and entrepreneurial stories of DDC’s founder and Chairman Yu Lin, as well as General Manager Li Xiaobing. Through their inspiring tales, the students witnessed the spirit of resilience, determination, and innovation that defines those dedicated to agriculture and animal husbandry. Both Chairman Yu Lin and General Manager Li Xiaobing demonstrated remarkable dedication during their studies, and after graduation, they wholeheartedly embraced careers in the agricultural and livestock industries. Driven by their deep passion for the sector and relentless perseverance, they steadily transformed DDC into a leading force within the industry—lessons that left the students deeply inspired and motivated.
Dr. Lü shared her personal growth story, along with her academic and professional experiences at Sichuan Agricultural University, as a case study. Drawing from the context of China's agriculture, rural areas, and farmers (the "Three Rural Issues"), she offered students valuable insights on how to continuously enhance themselves. She emphasized that her time at Sichuan Agricultural University not only equipped her with a solid professional foundation but also instilled in her a meticulous approach to learning. Transitioning into the workforce, she faced numerous challenges yet remained steadfast in her passion for learning and her determination to excel. Dr. Lü encouraged students to seize every opportunity during their studies, building a strong academic base while staying attuned to the evolving trends in China's agricultural, rural, and farmer-related industries—integrating their knowledge with real-world applications.
“Youth shines through struggle, and life blossoms through relentless effort,” Dr. Lü encouraged the agricultural and pastoral students present, urging them to sprint forward with all their might on the track of youth, so they can contribute their own strength to the development of the agri-pastoral industry.
After the presentation, Dr. Lü Jirong engaged in a lively interactive discussion with the students on topics such as pursuing postgraduate studies across disciplines and making career choices. The students actively asked questions, to which Dr. Lü patiently provided thoughtful answers. Regarding cross-disciplinary postgraduate exams, she advised students to align their interests with their career plans and to prepare thoroughly by mastering the fundamental knowledge of their target field well in advance. When discussing career options, she emphasized that the agriculture and animal husbandry industry is an area brimming with both opportunities and challenges, encouraging students to select development platforms that best suit their professional strengths and personal passions, so they can continue growing through practical experience.
Zhong Bangsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee at the Institute of Animal Nutrition of Sichuan Agricultural University, began his speech by highly praising Hank the Great for his outstanding achievements in the field of animal feed intake regulation. "For many years, Hank the Great has remained deeply committed to advancing this field, leveraging its robust technical expertise and innovative spirit to develop a series of products that have earned widespread market recognition. These innovations have made significant contributions to the growth of China's agricultural and pastoral industries, firmly establishing the company as a leading benchmark in the industry."
At the same time, he also expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Animal Nutrition Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University—and indeed, on behalf of all the students who participated in the event—for Hank the Great's warm hospitality. "It is precisely because of Hank the Great's strong support that our students have been given this invaluable opportunity to step into a real-world enterprise and gain firsthand insights into the cutting-edge trends of the industry.
