It’s been ten years since I joined Dadi—looking back on the journey step by step fills me with profound emotions and countless rewards. With a special sense of gratitude, I’d like to share my cherished memories of the company and my hopes for its bright future as we celebrate Dadi’s 20th anniversary.
The acquaintance and mutual understanding with the Great Emperor
People of my generation have always had a special affection for state-owned enterprises, as they symbolized job security, assured retirement benefits, and a host of attractive perks. But as the country has opened up at an increasingly rapid pace, society itself has undergone tremendous transformation. Starting in the 1990s, more and more individuals successfully launched private businesses, while the growing diversity of career opportunities and the abundance of material resources eventually stirred within me—a person who had worked in a state-owned enterprise for over two decades—a deep-seated desire to explore the wider world. In March 2003, I finally made the bold decision to leave my stable position at the state-owned company and join Chengdu Dadi Hank Biotechnology Co., Ltd., formerly known as Chengdu Dadi Feed Co., Ltd., where I took on a role as a marketing professional.
I remember the moment I decided to join the Dadi team—I simply felt that after so many years in a state-owned enterprise, I had completely lost the passion and fighting spirit of my younger days. At the same time, I also wanted to build a stronger financial foundation and create a better life for myself and my family. So, despite having no prior sales experience or specialized knowledge, I bravely took the leap and joined Dadi Company.
When I first joined Dadi Company, I was essentially a blank slate—completely unfamiliar with the agricultural and animal husbandry industry, and clueless about feed flavoring additives. This left me feeling deeply uncertain and overwhelmed, yet at the same time, filled with an eager desire for the future. Every day, I worked hard to familiarize myself with the unique features and selling points of the company’s various product lines. I also actively participated in training sessions on feed flavoring products and fundamental knowledge of animal nutrition. After three months of dedicated learning and hands-on guidance from experienced sales professionals, I finally took my first independent step: visiting clients in Beijing. After each daytime client meeting, I would spend the evening reflecting on the day’s interactions—analyzing both successes and areas for improvement—in order to refine my approach for future visits. Though the first six months were incredibly exhausting, pushing both my physical and mental limits, there were moments when I even found myself missing the stability and routine of my previous job at a state-owned enterprise. Yet, whenever I received a new customer order, I felt a bittersweet yet profoundly rewarding sense of fulfillment—and a growing determination that staying true to this path would ultimately lead to greater success. Along this journey, my connection with Dadi evolved from mere acquaintance to deep understanding and mutual trust. The more I got to know the company, the stronger my bond became, weaving an ever-deepening sense of belonging and warmth within Dadi’s close-knit “family.”
Growing up with the Great Emperor
In 2006, as the company marked its 15th anniversary, Da Di was poised for a new phase of growth. With superior equipment and a fully equipped team in place, the company was ready to take off. At the same time, the pace of developing innovative new products accelerated, while competition from both domestic and foreign enterprises intensified. To provide employees with better opportunities for advancement—and to boost overall work efficiency—the company began sending staff from various departments to pursue advanced studies at leading universities. At that moment, although I felt confident in handling my current responsibilities through personal effort and continuous learning, I often found myself stuck in a superficial rut, trapped in a cycle of frustration where genuine progress seemed elusive. For me, this was precisely the time when I needed to recharge and refocus most urgently at Da Di. It was during this critical period that Li Xiaobing, the company’s general manager, seemed to understand me even better than I did myself. Determined to help me break through my limitations, he spared no expense in sending me to Tsinghua University—renowned as one of China’s top institutions—for an EMBA program. Over the course of a year and a half, balancing work and study, I not only gained a fresh perspective on sales but also rediscovered a profound sense of joy and renewed motivation in my professional life.
In 2011, the company once again arranged for me to join a study tour to the United States, organized by the U.S. Soybean Association. During our time in America, we visited farms and livestock operations across the country. The farmers here were bustling with activity yet managed to juggle multiple roles simultaneously: farmer, manager, accountant, mechanic, welder, carpenter, veterinarian, chemist, agronomist, and even educator—demonstrating farming techniques to their hired workers. They also wore hats as marketers, investors, and even restaurant owners. Thanks to advanced mechanization and relentless hard work, American farmers and ranchers earn significantly more than their urban white-collar counterparts. This trip to the U.S. not only broadened my horizons but also gave me a deeper appreciation for the visionary leadership of these agricultural pioneers, as well as their profound care and high expectations for their dedicated employees.
A Vision for the Next Twenty Years
The Great Emperor has experienced a remarkable journey over the past two decades—from small beginnings to growth, and from strength to even greater power. Meanwhile, the agricultural and livestock industry has undergone earth-shattering transformations. Yet, despite these changes, the Great Emperor remains young and brimming with vitality. In today’s era of explosive knowledge and rapid information dissemination, the Great Emperor has even more innovative and advanced R&D capabilities, while its workforce continues to rejuvenate—becoming younger and increasingly knowledgeable. I’ve shared a deep, decade-long bond with the Great Emperor. As a long-time employee of the company, I’m committed to continuing to contribute my expertise and passion for years to come.
A journey that warms a lifetime, dreams entrusted to last a lifetime, emotions that touch the heart for a lifetime, beliefs pursued with unwavering dedication throughout a lifetime—these have all shaped the brilliance of a life and left indelible memories etched forever. To Dadi Company 20 years from now, I offer my heartfelt blessings and best wishes: May you become a world-class enterprise, build a first-rate team, craft an exceptional product portfolio, and ultimately set the industry standard!
We respectfully dedicate this to Chengdu Dadi Hank Biotechnology Co., Ltd.—for your tireless dedication, relentless self-improvement, and lifelong commitment!
